The Devil's Advocate

Zoe Beecham is the founder of The Devil's Advocate, hailing from the small town of Toronto, Canada. At York University, she pioneered a LGBTQ+ inclusivity program for incoming students while double majoring in Gender Studies and Visual Arts, with a research focus in biblical feminism.

Outside of school, she was trained as a peer support worker, primarily focused on trans youth with mental health struggles. She collaborated with Sherbourne Health Centre to modernize and run "Gender Journeys", a step by step program to explore and offer support about Gender Dysphoria and Transition. This program ran several well-received 10 week groups, funded by the ARCH facility in Guelph. The framework of this program is used to this day by the LIHC and Londons Branch of the CMHA.

In London, she saw a growing need for affordable tax assistance and compassionate financial advice available to disadvantaged communities, outside of the brief offering of free, first come first serve clinics leading up to the annual Tax Season. With Education and Mentorship since 2020 provided by a local feminist tax firm she developed the skill set to incorporate The Devil's Advocate, and provide finance and tax support to the people that need it the most.
